PREFABRICATED JOINT PROFILES FOR HIGH-RESISTANCE, LOW-NOISE FLOOR JOINTS

Conventional floor joint profiles of steel are deployed to resist high wheel loads on concrete floors – as encountered, for example, in car parks, production and storage buildings and in retail facilities. You cannot see them, but you frequently hear them as contact from wheeled traffic invariably gives rise to noise and vibration. Industrial trucks such as forklifts often shake as they pass over such joints, increasing noise levels and even sometimes causing damage to fragile goods on board. Sooner or later, the forklifts and the floor itself experience attrition, with operative health also a concern. With MC-Floor Connect MC-Bauchemie offers fast, easy-fit prefabricated polymer concrete profiles. They create a smooth floor surface, ensuring that wheeled equipment can pass over virtually vibration- and noise-free.

JOINT SYSTEM FOR EXTREME APPLICATION DEMANDS

Conventional joint systems for expansion joints on industrial floors are based on polyurethanes, silicones, MS polymers or polysulphides. These are usually less resistant than the adjoining coating and vulnerable to chemical attack, quickly becoming brittle and needing to be repaired within relatively short intervals. Mycoflex Resyst can eliminate this vulnerability. MC-Bauchemie’s product system consists of prefabricated mouldings made from a special polymer foam that is highly resistant to chemical attack, mechanical stressing and permanent water exposure. It delivers a thoroughly reliable joint system for floors and expansion joints, even where components suffer significant thermal expansion and heavy mechanical wear and tear. This makes the joint system particularly suited to a wide range of industrial floor applications, especially the chemical and oil industries and in the sewage treatment sector.
